Lake City's “Leader of the Pack”
Tops the Charts for Local Entertainment
If you are looking for something
different to do, we highly recommend going to the Lake City Playhouse
production of “Leader of the Pack”. This musical celebrates the
life and times of songwriter, Ellie Greenwich, whose many songs
topped the charts in the 1960's. Some of her hits include “Chapel
of Love”, “Da-Do Ron Ron”, “Be My Baby”, “Hanky Panky”,
“Do Wah Diddy”, “River Deep, Mountain High”, “And Then He
Kissed Me”, and “Leader of the Pack”.
Marina Kalani, Director of “Leader of
the Pack” was blessed with an amazingly talented cast. To have one
or two powerful voices to recreate Ellie Greenwich's music would be
quite a feat. Marina had seven (including herself) whose melodious
sounds sent chills down my spine. Emily Cleveland, who portrays
Ellie Greenwich, tops my list. However, the vocal talents of Matthew
Peyton, Ariel Cansino, Briana Hayes, Jennifer Davis, and Sara Briggs
cannot go unmentioned. Come see the show before this talented cast
and crew are snatched away by Hollywood's talent scouts.
The show, which debuted on January 14,
runs through January 31, 2010. Show time is 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices
are as follows:
